GET INVOLVED

Thank you to everyone who came out to share their thoughts on transportation in Tualatin!

The project team wrapped up our first phase of engagement in November, and we learned so much from you during the open house, survey, and three focus groups. Tualatin community members want to make walking, biking, and transit better while and ensuring that people driving can get around in a timely manner. Here are some key takeaways from these recent events and activities:

  • Maintaining adequate function of the road system (both in and beyond the City) is a top priority for many respondents
  • Survey respondents would like to bike, walk, and carpool more—and drive less.
  • Investing in safe routes for students to walk and bike to school is a top priority for residents.
  • Efficiency, safety, and economy are the priorities for survey respondents for the Transportation System Plan goals.
  • Survey respondents and focus group participants want increased coverage and frequency of TriMet and Tualatin Shuttle.
  • Both survey respondents and focus group participants mentioned concerns about the lack of lighting or a desire to improve lighting.

Our next steps will be to build on this input and other data collection to put together a draft project list for the transportation network. We’ll be back with updates in the next few months!
